WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR CLASS
Dress Codes By Class
To make your shopping experience easier we have partnered with Nimbly dancewear. Although there is no required brand or style for leotards, tights and shoes. We have placed required shoes, and some acceptable dancewear on a dress code list (by class) on the Nimbly website. Visit www.shopnimbly.com/cqsava and click on your class to shop. Beginnings 1 and 2
Lavender leotard, with or without skirt, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes. Hair should be off of the face and neck.
Lavender leotard and pink footless tights. Students will be barefoot. Hair should be off of the face and neck. Ponytails should be kept low to enable students to do forward rolls.
Ballet/Tap or Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo Classes
Light blue leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black patent leather student tie taps. A pink or light blue skirt is optional. Skin toned Jazz shoes MAY be needed for students in 3 part combo classes IF the class will be performing jazz in the recital. We will let you know in December. Hair should be off the face and neck.
Hip Hop/Tumble Combo
Black leggings with a studio t shirt. Black low top, converse style sneakers that are clean and only used in the studio for hip hop. Bare feet for tumbling.
Ballet Classes level 1 and above
Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. Hair should be in a ballet bun, secured with bobbie pins.
Solid colored leotard, tights or leggings. Skin toned slip on gore jazz shoes. Hair should be off of the face and neck and tightly secured.
Solid colored leotard and tights or leggings. Pirouette shoes or Apollo Shock Socks (with grips) Hair should be off of the face and neck and tightly secured.
Leotard or fitted t-shirt, tights or leggings for all tap classes.
Tap levels A and B will wear Caramel colored U shell tap shoes
Tap level C will wear caramel colored tie up jazz tap shoes
Tap level D will wear black tie up jazz taps.
Hair should be off of the face and neck and tightly secured.
Comfortable, stretchy, fitted clothing such as leggings or sweat pants and a t shirt. Black low top "Converse Style" sneakers. Sneakers should be DEDICATED only for dance classes, and not worn outside. Hair should be off of the face and neck and tightly secured.
Solid leotard with footless tights or leggings and bare feet. Hair should be secured off the face and neck.. Pony tails should be kept low to enable students to do forward rolls.
CQSA does NOT allow 2 piece dance clothing for any student below the age of 16, and all students are required to keep their legs covered with tights or leggings. Students above the age of 16 may opt for sports bras in place of a leotard for all classes EXCEPT ballet but MUST be fully covered in the lobby, hallways and entering/exiting the building.
